EastSide Dental Medicine has one of the most advanced facilities in New York City.

Located in New York's Midtown and surrounded by historical buildings near the Central Park, EastSide Dental Medicine's office is a modern facility utilizing the latest technology.  The office's operation adopts a minimalist approach.  The office is virtually paperless and has interactive, Web-based capabilities to enhance accurate and precise services.  To provide high quality and comprehensive dental care, the office uses the latest and most-advanced technologies in diagnostics and therapeutic modalities that reflect contemporary evidence-based and esthetically-driven dentistry.

 

IV Sedation
For many, the idea of visiting the dentist can cause enough anxiety to postpone routine visits and avoid taking care of issues when they are small. When fear interferes with proper dental care, it generally leads to larger more significant types of treatment. EastSide Dental Medicine understands when the fearful patients come to the dentist because of pain, the idea of treatment can be an overwhelming experience. SEDATION dentistry is a solution for many of our apprehensive patients who require dental treatment. We are pleased to have Dr Robert Castracane, a certified Sedation Dentist and Dr Zad Khan, a dental anesthesiologist, on our team. Both Drs Castracane and Khan will be working closely with our patients requiring sedation for dental treatment and easing their minds in order to gain a healthy smile. Sedation can be also considered for long dental appointments. We are very excited to have this option available for our patients.

Digital Radiography
Our office uses the state-of-the-art Dexis Digital X-ray Imaging. This is a form of X-ray imaging where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. The system advantages are:

  1. Increased time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing
  2. Increased clarity and quality of x-rays from a diagnostic stand point which allows us detect decay at an earlier stage so treatment can be more conservative.
  3. The ability to digitally transfer and enhance images.
  4. LESS radiation is used to produce a radiographic image compared to conventional radiography.
 

Invisalign Treatment
Invisalign is a breakthrough technology in dentistry, which straightens teeth using a series of aligners which are clear, plastic, removable trays. Gendex Cone Beam Computed Tomography
The Gendex Cone Beam technology offers more advanced anatomical views by capturing 3-D scans of the mouth and jaw right in our office. 3D X-rays are used to precisely plan for treatment before any procedures begin. The state-of-the-art scans serve for accurate diagnosing for implants, oral surgery, TMJ, and other dental related procedures. With CBCT Imaging, as you are aware, you can now view muscle, soft tissue, bone, and blood vessels with clarity that can lead to a more precise patient diagnosis. The CBCT Scanner not only allows a 3-D scan, but also allows High-End 2-D Traditional Panoramic x-rays to be taken at low radiation of at least 10 times less radiation the traditional medical CT scans.

Brasseler Endo-Sequence System
This advanced rotary instruments for root canal therapy have allowed the instrumentation process to become easier and more productive. The introduction of greater taper instruments has allowed the practitioner to “mill” the canals thereby creating shapes that are easier to obturate. As a result of improved technology, file breakage has decreased and cutting efficiency has increased along with improvements in file flexibility.

STM
Our Soft Tissue Management (STM) program for gum therapy consists of periodontal debridement with a piezo irrigator scaler: a laser like instrument which is quick and painless. Scaling and root planing of diseased gum with hand instruments is meticulously carried out along with an in -office irrigation treatment with the warmed medicaments of chlorhexidine and fluoride; which are known to aid in the healing process.
